Episode 264

Warren pours out his heart about concrete, Jordan rats out New York terrier clubs, & Chris sits out life in a hardware store bathroom.

It’s 9/11 somewhere, this week on Horsetrack Hooligans.

Updates & Corrections

The podcast that featured the Ryder Trencer-Fed Society mentioned by Jordan was likely This American Life.

Billy Crystal opened for the ’50s revival act Sha Na Na. He was an unknown comic at the time, an unknown who happened to look exactly like one of Sha Na Na’s lead singers, Johnny Contardo.

Stanley Kubrick documentary Axhandle wanted to recommend was Stanley Kubrick: A Life In Picures.

Supermarkets are called supermarkets in Australia, but sidewalks are pavement, trash is rubbish, (and trash-cans are rubbish bins)…

And, cassowary isn’t good eating, as far as I know, but this may be because they are actually mythical and/or a level 15 Monster, and thus cant be easily killed.

Emu and kangaroo is commonly available in the “boutique” section of butchers and supermarket meat sections, along with deer, rabbit and duck. Both are delicious, kangaroo is more like reindeer than normal venison.

Gun ownership has become highly regulated, and controlled, but hunting with firearms still occurs, as well as for farmers and sporting target shooters.

great work guys, I love listening, it certainly helps fill the hole left by Caustic Soda wrapping up. I have gone back and listened to a bunch of your back catalogue, really helps the hours go by at work!
